Orgone energy is a term used to describe the natural life force present in living systems and in the environment. Many traditions refer to this same concept as life energy or “chi.” The idea is that this energy moves through the body and surrounding space, and when it flows freely, people often experience a greater sense of balance and well-being.
In the early twentieth century, scientist Wilhelm Reich studied the concept of life energy and proposed that emotional stress or trauma could create patterns of tension within the body. He believed this tension could cause energy to become stagnant within muscle tissue, a condition he referred to as “body armoring.” Reich developed devices called orgone accumulators, which he believed could concentrate this natural life energy in a contained space.
Orgonite is a modern material inspired by Reich’s early research. It is typically made from a combination of resin, metal shavings, copper, and crystals. These components are layered or embedded together in molds to create shapes such as pyramids, pendants, or decorative pieces.
The design combines organic materials (such as resin) with inorganic metals. Supporters believe this combination creates a continuous interaction of attracting and repelling energy, which helps keep environmental energy moving rather than becoming stagnant. Quartz crystals are often added because of their well-known ability to interact with electrical and energetic frequencies.
Some people compare the effects of Orgonite to environments rich in negative ions—places like waterfalls, forests, mountains, or ocean beaches. These natural environments are often associated with feelings of freshness, mental clarity, and relaxation. For this reason, Orgonite pieces are sometimes placed in homes or workspaces to encourage a more balanced atmosphere.

To use Orgonite, simply place the piece in a room where you spend time, such as a living area, office, or bedroom. It can also be held during quiet activities such as resting, meditation, reading, or watching television. Many people use Orgonite as a supportive environmental tool intended to promote a calm and balanced space.
