Quartz is a very common mineral found in all three classes of rocks (igneous, metamorphic, and sedimentary), in a variety of environments, and in a range of colors—including blue and pink. Blue quartz is scarce while, on the other hand, rose quartz is more common.
Blue quartz gets it deep to sky blue color from inclusions that scatter sunlight from inclusions. These inclusions could be tiny mineral grains of: ilmenite, rutile, tourmaline, crocidolite, magnesio riebeckite, or zoisite (maybe others). Inclusions selectively scatter visible light of the shorter, blue wavelength. Blue quartz has opalescence (waxy luster), chatoyancy (alternating luster), and asterism (presence of star-like figures).
Blue Rose Quartz has all the properties of the Rose Quartz but adding intellect to the mix. It encourages the integration of the heart and mind and of the emotions and intellect.
Blue Rose Quartz is a refreshing and enveloping experience, giving the sense of being welcomed and cherished by the Universe. It is a tender and nurturing stone, strengthening empathic and intuitive abilities as we become more attuned to those around us.
